Your privacy is important to us. We want Byrd to be a private-first company that puts respect of user data at the heart of what we do.
We request basic account information such as your preferred name, email address and password when you register for Byrd. It allows us to give you access to the service. You can use Apple sign-in or Google sign-in instead of directly using your email. We additionally request personal information - such as your full name, date of birth, height and weight - to personalise the service. These are optional.
Activity information is collected when you share this information to us. This may be by recording the run directly on Byrd, uploading a file (e.g. a GPX) or connecting a third-party service such as Garmin. We will use information within that data (such as date, distance, duration etc) to provide Byrd’s services.
Byrd uses your location information when you sign up for - and use - Byrd. We request permission to use your location device. It’s used for weather services and to track your run whilst using Byrd e.g. if you’re recording a run directly with Byrd. You can change device permissions at any time by adjusting the settings on your device.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time and it will remove your user, activity data, goal data etc. from our product database. Byrd will no longer have access to the data and nor will you. This is irreversible. You may still receive emails from us if you’re signed up to our Mailchimp mailing list(s). The two databases aren’t connected in anyway.
Exporting your data
There currently isn’t functionality to directly export your data from Byrd. Please get in touch with us if this is something you need support with.
